Earthquaker Devices - Cool

Earthquaker Devices/Afterneath-Reverb-Guitar-Effects-Pedal ..oh I really do not know what earthquaker devices   are but I know that guitarist would love to own one.  It is a reverberation malcine that uses a swarm of short delays to make wild and cavernous reverbs and scattered, short rhythmic delays with very bizarre characteristic. Wow , won't our friend Joe who is a musician loves this true bypass with an all digital reverb engine, all analog dry signal path and hand made one at a time in Akron, Ohio and it is such a small device but power packed.  It measures just 4 5/8" x 2 1/2" x 2.25" with knobs and has features stated below

  • Length: Controls the decay length of the reverb.
  • Diffuse: Adjusts the spread of the reverb. Sharper with more attack counter clockwise, more ambient and washy as you turn it clockwise.
  • Dampen: Clockwise for brighter tones, counter clockwise for darker tones.
  • Drag: This digital reverb is made up of a bunch of short delays, this separates the delay lines creating a stuttering, pingy effect. This is the coolest control on the Afterneath,  highly advise slowly turning this while you let notes ring out for a cool warped speed effect. More delay as you turn it counter clockwise, more reverb as you turn it clockwise.
  • Reflect: Controls the regeneration of the reverb, turn clockwise for more wash and echos, counterclockwise for less. This will self oscillate if turned up high.

A great device to add to the sound control :)

A Great Day With The Extended Family @ Concubine Lane, Ipoh

When my new daughter Elaine came visiting with her mom and her sister, WB and I took them to eat in old town, Ipoh but her favorite shop was closed on that day...anyway, since we were in the vicinity, we visited Concubine Lane which has turned into a tourist attraction.  The place was crowded with tourists from Singapore and northern state.  Quite interesting I would say. Even though I eat in old town most of the time when I do my banking, I hardly step into Concubine Lane. I was amazed at how the lane has turned into a busy place.

Why is it named Concubine Lane ? In the old days, rich chinese tycoons were supposed to have kept their concubines and mistresses in the townhouse here.  Thus, the naming of this lane - Concubine Lane.

up and coming artist - you can have your portrait drawn on the spot

First New Year Smile From My Turmeric Plant - First Bloom

First smile from my year old turmeric plant and on New Year day :)   I was pottering around and suddenly I saw the first bloom...Gosh ! I was so happy...ran into house and got hold of my old fatihful Canon Powershot and clicked away .  Now proudly showing off the first bloom and my first time seeing a turmeric flower.  A good sign for 2016 ...God is good all the time and all the time God is good.  I never had success in planting edibles and now this is good sign that there will be a good harvest coming from this turmeric plant :)

I have a new Nikon D3200 but have not master it yet so meanwhile please bear with these photos.  I promised to quickly master it and will have more beautiful photos for My Knick Knacks blog.  Stay tuned for further updates.
