Close-Up Photography Can Be An Addiction :)

Macro or close-up photography is quite addictive.  With this new addiction , I am always on the look out for insects or flowers in my little space where I could capture them with my Nikon. And when my Madeira Vine was in full bloom,  different species of insects will drop by and this is the time to spend time in my heavenly space :) And putting what I learnt thus far from my mentor to full use. This bumble bee paid a visit to my delight.

The bee was fluttering all the time and I have to set my shutter speed to 1/250 sec and smaller aperture so that I could have a deeper depth of field.  I am happy that at least I managed to capture a clear picture of the bee.  Though it may not be a picture perfect as the one on the previous post, this is good consider still an amateur in close-up photography :)

my model for today :)

even the blue bottle fly loves this flower

I have thank God for sending these insects to my little space I called my sanctuary
and pray He will send more to me so that I have free models
for this learning period :)

Enjoy and have a great Sunday !

Flowers Photography

There is just this thing about the inherent beauty of a flower; the wide variety of colors, shapes, and patterns that provides drama and interest to the landscape.  Whether growing wild in a field , or in the back yard, flowers are all around to showcase the beauty of the natural world. I also realised that flowers are willing subjects and lend themselves quite well to being photographed :)   I love flowers and looking at them through the close-up lens truly inspires me to be around them all day long.  I can spend hours in the hot sun taking countless shots of them.  Learning how to use manual settings under different conditions is really challenging.  I promised myself that I will be good one day and here are some of the many shots I took during one of my photography outings.  I hope you all will agree that I have improved :)

Enjoy !

Happy Mother's Day

" She is clothed with strength and dignity : she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue "
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness
Her children arise and call her blessed;
and her husband also , and he praises her:

Proverbs 31: 25-28

to all the wonderful mothers

All pictures are taken with Nikon D3200 with macro lens conversion attached

Cozy Winter Wears

One of my cell group friend , Helen, went to Seoul recently with her family to see the cherry blossoms and on a food trail.  It was quite cold even though it is spring.  She told me it is a good time to  visit Korea during the spring time as the weather will not be  chilling to the bone and the cherry blossoms trees that lined the streets are in full bloom. A beautiful sight to behold.

I would love to visit Korea too and enjoy the beautiful spring.   Food is another luring factor.  I love theKorean Fried Chicken, and their BBQ too.  Everything is perfect to go during Spring but I think for me, I will be shivering because I am one person that can't stand the cold.  I told Helen about this fact why I prefer to go during their summer ( might be very hot ) but she told me to visit Cozy Winters Reviews as they have good heated gloves that might keep me warm from the grips of chilly weather.

Its thin micro-alloy heating elements gives continuus heat and effectively distributed all throughout the hands. With this gloves, I will be free to go about Seoul sight seeing and enjoys the beautiful Spring scenery.  I will definitely check it out and maybe get for Joanna too, since I will be going with her when I tour Korea.  Maybe we can hop over to Jeju Island too.  Our plans to go during Spring time will materialise with this heated gloves :)
